Ray Blakney is President & Partner at egelloC, a bootstrapped company doing eight figures in annual revenue three years in, with no venture capital.
Ray Blakney has bootstrapped multiple 7- and 8-figure human-first online education startups. A former computer engineer and Peace Corps volunteer, he and his wife Laura started Querétaro Language School in 2008 with about $2,000 and grew it into Live Lingua, one of the top online language schools and an Entrepreneur360 honoree in 2015. He also co-founded Productized Education and founded Podcast Hawk, and has mentored founders at the Harvard Innovation Labs since 2023.
He writes and talks about bootstrapping, productized education and why human-first learning wins. Outside the office, he’s a semi-professional swordfighter.
